Is there parking?

There is ample free parking in the plaza.

What if I am having a dental emergency?

Dental emergencies come in many forms, from an asymptomatic chipped tooth, to a serious infection. Whatever your issue, we encourage you to call the office right away for guidance. If you get our voicemail during regular business hours, we are assisting a patient or have stepped away briefly. We frequently monitor voicemail during this time.  After hours our out-of-office telephone menu provides contact information for a 24-hour emergency dental office for visits that can’t wait until the next business day at our office. If you experience severe swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing this is a medical emergency requiring a visit to the nearest hospital emergency department. Severe dental emergencies are best managed at Sunnybrook Hospital, which has an in house oral surgery department.

Can I just come for a cleaning?

Although dental cleanings are a common and routine procedure, they are still considered medical treatment. Patients who have gum disease and those with certain medical conditions may have additional risks that need to be identified and reviewed prior to undergoing treatment. If you would like to have your cleaning and examination on the same day, talk to our front desk staff and in many cases we can schedule appointments together for your convenience.

Can I come in for a second opinion?

It is reasonable to seek another perspective on treatment recommendations. Depending on the nature of the problem, it may be necessary to conduct a complete exam to provide an accurate second opinion. We are happy to see you as a patient for this limited purpose without the expectation of continued care at Green Door Dental. Your oral health is our main concern.

When should my child(ren) have their first dental visit?

The sooner the better! A visit around a child’s first birthday is an excellent time to start. Developing good habits and feeling comfortable at the dentist’s office is critical to proactively managing  a child’s oral health and ensures they will see it as a positive, relaxing space. Typically a first visit is as simple as having your child sit on your lap and take a ride in the dental chair. Talk to our front desk staff about how best to co-ordinate a first visit.
